Glow (Flow Yoga)
Glow is a slightly more relaxed flow class in a gentler environment - lower heat, slower pacing. Another great class for beginners! For a more intense experience, try Hot Glow.
Glow is ALIVE's relaxed flow yoga class: breath-linked movement at 92°F and 50% humidity, paced so you can actually enjoy it. Where our hot yoga classes hold postures still, Glow keeps you moving: one shape flows into the next on the rhythm of your breathing. It's flow yoga with the intensity dialed to welcoming, and it's one of the most popular first classes on our schedule.
Flow (or vinyasa) yoga pairs movement with breath. Inhale into one posture, exhale into the next, until the sequence starts to feel less like exercise and more like a moving meditation. Glow keeps the transitions unhurried and the postures accessible, so there's time to find each shape before leaving it. The 92°F room does quiet work in the background: muscles lengthen more willingly and the body settles into movement faster than it would in a cold room.
Is Glow Good for Beginners?
Yes. Alongside Electron, it's the class we most often suggest for a first visit. The fluid sequence is built from basic yoga movements with plenty of time and space to learn, and it carries many opportunities to advance as those basics settle in. The difference between the two starter classes is format, not difficulty: Electron teaches static postures you hold, Glow teaches movement you flow through. Try both early on; most people discover a preference quickly, and knowing yours makes the rest of the schedule easy to navigate. Our first-class guide covers the practical details.
How Is Glow Different From Aura?
They share a temperature and a gentle reputation, but they're different practices. Aura is a calming class built around long, soft holds; its purpose is restoration. Glow is a true flow class: gentler than Wave or Big Bang, but still continuous movement with a workout inside it. Pick Aura to downshift; pick Glow to move.
Who Glow Is For
- First-timers who'd rather flow than hold. If continuous movement sounds more natural to you than static postures, start here.
- Practitioners building toward faster flows. Glow teaches the vocabulary that Big Bang and Wave speak at speed.
- Anyone who wants movement without punishment. A real practice with a gentle grade, ideal for easy days, mornings, and rebuilding a habit.
- Stiff-but-active people. Runners, lifters, and desk workers use Glow as their mobility session: full-body movement through ranges their sport or chair never visits.
What to Expect
Moisture-wicking clothing and water. The mat and towel are on us. Expect a steady, unhurried pace with room to modify every posture, and a proper savasana at the end. Classes run in both coached and immersive formats (here's how to choose); the immersive version, guided by floor-to-ceiling video and sound, is a favorite way to take Glow. When you're ready for more heat with the same flow, Hot Glow is Glow's warmer sibling.
How Often
Glow handles frequency well. Two to four classes a week is common, and it slots neatly between harder sessions as an active-recovery day.
Where to Practice
Glow is offered at our Plano, Southlake, and Las Colinas locations.
