A gym membership is a good gift when it gives someone a place they want to go, not a plan they have to follow. It's one of the few gifts that gets used all year, and an ALIVE membership is built for exactly that. It isn't access to equipment. It's a class in a room designed to carry it for you: floor-to-ceiling video, sound and lighting, with heat and humidity held steady by our patented control system. The person you give it to doesn't need a goal, a routine or any experience to start. They just need to walk in.
Classes start every 30 minutes at our studios in Plano, Southlake and Las Colinas, so the gift fits around their week instead of asking them to rebuild it. One membership covers hot yoga, flow, barre, Pilates and HIIT, taught three ways: immersive, coached, or traditional and teacher-led. The simplest way to give it is an ALIVE gift card. It never expires, and it works on any membership, a Trial Month or a class pass, so the person you give it to decides when to start and what it becomes. If you're already a member, you have a couple more ways to give, and they're below.
What does an ALIVE membership give someone?
An hour they don't have to plan. Every class is built ahead of time, from the sequence of movements to the music and the light, and it's guided by video and sound on floor-to-ceiling screens. The heat and humidity are set for each type of class by a control system we hold a patent on (US Patent 12,209,760), so the room feels the same every time they come back.
- A class every 30 minutes, from early morning into the evening. Monday to Thursday, the last class starts at 9 PM.
- 45 or 60 minutes, with a guided meditation of about ten minutes after every 45-minute class, like Cosmic Meditation.
- Nothing to bring but water. A sanitized mat and a fresh towel are waiting for them.
- Three studios in Plano, Southlake and Las Colinas.
Why is it more than a gym membership?
A gym hands someone equipment and leaves the rest to them: what to do, in what order, and for how long. A class does the opposite. The sequence is built, the room is set and the levels are already in it, so the hardest part, showing up, is behind them the moment they walk in. That's the idea behind The Only Goal Is Not Zero.
It's also a lot of different things under one membership. There's hot yoga like Atom, our signature class at about 98.6°, and gentler hot yoga at about 92° in Electron, Glow and Aura. There's barre in Spark, Pilates in Gravity and HIIT in Universe. Mixing them up is part of the point, and why workout variety matters explains why.
And they can choose how they're taught. In an immersive class, the video and sound lead. In a coached class, the video and sound handle the demonstration, so the instructor in the room can give the people there their full attention. Immersive vs. coached classes walks through the difference. Every class has levels, so a first-timer belongs in the room on day one.
Who is an ALIVE membership a good gift for?
- The friend who keeps saying they want to get back to yoga. This gives them a place to do it and a class every half hour to choose from.
- The partner whose days run long. With classes starting every 30 minutes until the evening, there's one after work most days.
- The parent who'd like something gentle. Electron, Glow and Aura run at about 92° and suit a softer start.
- The person who has everything. A membership is something to do, not something to find room for.
- The one who likes to mix it up. Hot yoga on Monday, barre on Wednesday, Pilates on Saturday.
Where does the community come in?
In the room, first. Classes are taken alongside other people, not in front of them. The lights are low, and everyone is watching the screen and adjusting for themselves. It's a room full of people doing the same thing, at their own level.
Then over time. Every class counts toward milestones at 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 classes, then every 1,000 after that. From 1,000 classes on, each milestone comes with a personalized ALIVE water bottle, presented in person. We celebrate those milestones with our members, and the person you give this to could be next.
How do you give an ALIVE membership?
There isn't a separate checkout for buying a membership in someone else's name. An ALIVE gift card does that job, and members have two more ways to give.
Give an ALIVE gift card
On our Gift Cards page, choose $25, $50, $100 or $200, or enter any amount from $10 to $1,200. Once you've bought it, it's under My Gift Cards → Purchased. From there you can print it with their name, yours and a short note to give in person, or email it, text it or copy its link.
They redeem it on the same page with a free account, and the amount becomes store credit. It never expires, and it works on any purchase: a Trial Month, a class pass, any membership or monthly payments. The credit is applied to their next purchase automatically, and anything left over stays for the one after. If they're already a member, it goes toward their next payments. Gift cards are non-refundable.
For why a gift card can be a better present than cash, see our companion piece.
Add a family member to your membership
If you're a member, you can add a family member to your membership from your Membership page, or by asking our team. It's for family only.
Give a free class or share a class pass
Members can give a friend a free class with a guest pass: choose Invite a friend on your Membership page. Class passes can usually be shared too, at no cost. Either one pairs well with a gift card, and it means their first class can be one you take together.
How do you make it feel like a gift?
- Write the note. The printed card has room for a short one, and it's the part they'll keep.
- Pick their first class together. Look through the classes and the schedule, and choose one that sounds like them. Your first ALIVE class tells them what to expect.
- Go with them. Book the same class, or bring them on a guest pass if you're a member.
- Let it be theirs. The card never expires, so they start when they're ready, and showing up is the whole goal.
The bottom line
A gym membership is a good gift when it's a place someone wants to be. An ALIVE membership gives them an hour that's already planned, a choice of classes every 30 minutes at three studios, and a room full of people doing the same thing. A gift card that never expires lets them decide when it starts.
You'll find gift cards on our Gift Cards page. Buying for yourself? Start with 31 days of unlimited classes. Have a look at the classes, or find your studio in Plano, Southlake or Las Colinas. Mats and towels are here. Bring water, and we'll see you soon.
